Clinical Nutrition

Clinical Nutrition services are provided by a registered dietician to in-patient, out-patients and in partnership with other community programs.

Oncology

The WNGH offers a satellite Oncology program through the Regional Cancer Program of Health Sciences North with Chemotherapy services provided to the residents of West Nipissing.

Ambulatory Services

The WNGH hosts regular cardiology, urology, nephrology, pediatric, otolaryngology, gynecology, sleep labs and psychiatry clinics with consultation and follow-up visits by specialists. There exists an excellent referral relationship between our facility and the district hospital in North Bay, as well, as Health Sciences North.

Diabetes Management

The WNGH offers diabetes education services on a part-time basis as a satellite office of the North Bay Regional Health Centre’s full-time Diabetes Education Centre. The WNGH office is staffed by a Registered Dietitian and Registered Nurse. Consultation is available by appointment only.

Rehabilitation

The WNGH provides Outpatient Physiotherapy service which requires a physician’s referral. The following criteria must be met for a referral, as set by the MOHLTC: Over the age of 65 years, Under the age of 19 years, Recent discharge related to the need for physiotherapy, No third party insurance, and Recipient of Ontario Works or Disability Support Program
