Interim Long Term care
The WNGH operates a 48 bed Interim Long Term Care (LTC) Unit named the “Pavillon”. The original beds opened up on October 31st, 2005 and have grown to a total of 48 beds as of April 4th, 2011. These Interim LTC beds are district beds that were approved by the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) and the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MoHLTC) to address our district alternate level of care (ALC) issues.
Occupational Health Services
A full-time registered nurse is available for the staff of the WNGH.
The discharge planning coordinator assists the patient and collaborates with the family, and multidisciplinary health care team and community resources. The coordinator assists in early identification and assessments of the patient’s needs and implement timely discharge plans that include continuity of care. The coordinator is available Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.
Infection Prevention and Control
Our Infection Prevention and Control specialist ensures that the WNGH is safe for all patients and workers and provides the required information for the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care patient safety indicators and public reporting.
The WNGH has on site certified pharmacy technicians and part-time pharmacist.
