The WNGH Board of Directors and hospital are very excited and grateful to announce that the Caisse Alliance (Nipissing Central Region) has generously donated $100,000 towards the CT scanner.

Over the past several months it has been a pleasure to work with Marcy Lemieux Regional Manager and Alexandre Laferrière Assisted Operations and Transactions Manager from Caisse Alliance Sturgeon Falls on this exciting donation. The donation of $100,000 will have an enormous impact on our CT program and our community.

Earlier access to CT scans and CT results would assist the diagnostic process and allow the medical staff to evaluate their patients, initiate treatment, make appropriate referrals and request consultations with supportive diagnostic reports. This intervention alone will improve patient outcomes. An onsite CT scanner will assist our physicians in determining if a specialty referral is required and reducing or eliminating unnecessary travel for our patients and their families.

The Caisse Alliance mission reflects connection to the communities they serve, cooperating with their communities and a sense of commitment- all which is clearly evident in their generous donations which give back to our residents of West Nipissing. “This investment will help patients and their families reduce travel time and increase the speed of diagnosis. It’s our pleasure to continue our long-term relationship with our local hospital in helping improve the quality of care offered to the residents of West Nipissing“ said Marcy Lemieux, Regional Manager at Caisse Alliance.

The CT scanner is scheduled to be operational late fall of 2020. The CT scanner and room renovations are expected to cost about $1.8 million dollars. The CT scanner and renovations are completely funded by the WNGH along with kind donations like this. There are specific requirements for the room that include lead-lined walls, doors, windows, flooring and more. Local vendors are being utilized as much as possible on this project, like all hospital projects.

A Caisse Alliance plaque will be installed proudly at the entrance to our CT scanner room recognizing the organization and their donation, which is consistent with our policy on ‘naming opportunities’. This plaque will be unveiled at the grand opening celebration.

This is the second large donation made to the West Nipissing General Hospital by Caisse Alliance over the past few years. In 2006, the Caisse Alliance donated $100,000 to establish the Long Term Care courtyard, which today remains beautiful and enjoyed by our residents and their families.
