We believe the dining room is the heart of a home. It’s a gathering place for friends and family, a place where memories are homemade and seasoned with love. In fact, the fondest memories are made when gathered around the table.
For months during the pandemic, our residents experienced prolonged isolation from family, friends, and essential caregivers. Long-term care homes went into lockdown with strict no visitor policies, social activities were cancelled, residents weren’t allowed to leave, and masking and personal protective equipment mandates went into effect, leaving residents with minimal social interactions.
Two years in, and restrictions are easing. Visitors and caregivers have returned, leaves of absence are allowed, and activities have resumed. Now it’s time for us to reunite, celebrate, and create new memories.
It’s time for the Heart of Our Home to be our dining room.
Meeting our community’s various health care needs also means ensuring that our medical team has the necessary equipment to deliver the health care they are trained to provide. Contrary to popular belief, provincial funding does not cover new medical equipment and other capital expenses. Hospitals are 100% responsible for purchasing equipment, renovations, and other capital investments like computer systems.
The West Nipissing General Hospital Foundation was incorporated in 1995 as a non-profit, charitable corporation with the sole purpose of raising funds for the benefit of the West Nipissing General Hospital. Over the last 27 years, the Foundation has worked diligently to inspire residents of West Nipissing to give generously to support high-quality health care right here at home.
The Foundation is embarking on the journey to support the rejuvenation of the WNGH’s Long-Term Care dining room. The commitment to this project comes with a significant price tag. As a result, the Foundation will need sufficient funds to help cover the full cost of the renovations.
The WNGH Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the Working Together for LTC Campaign with the goal of raising $100,000.
But we need YOUR help.
The Heart of Our Home is an opportunity that rests solely on our shoulders.
Philanthropy is a key element of our Campaign Plan, and we ask you today for your help. We invite you to make an important investment in the West Nipissing General Hospital – one which will improve the stay of your loved ones.
