Digital X-Ray Suite

This year the foundation surpassed all expectations by collecting over $50,000 in donations to purchase a brand new digital X-ray machine! We must express our gratitude towards the many hospital staff, volunteers, community members, Denise Nadon, and the WNFS Pink T-Shirt campaign for their continued support and participation in our campaign to provide high quality healthcare to the West Nipissing community.

Hummingbird Hospice Colibri

On January 13th, 2017 WNGH was pleased to unveil a new one
(1) bed Hospice Suite for West Nipissing community and surrounding area residents. The hospice unit was named the "Hummingbird Hospice Colibri" by our employees and volunteers.

Thank you, NELHIN for funding and approving the one (1) bed hospice suite,
Vianny Morin our contractor, Dr. Klère Bourgault for the futon, Joanne and Dan Vallière from Stereo Plus Sturgeon Falls for the fridge and microwave, Mrs. Claire Trépanier for donating the flat screen TV in memory of her husband Raymond Trepanier, Marcelle Cloutier for donating a beautiful painting, as well as our many dedicated employees and volunteers.

This year RBC and Comfort Inn both participated in our Two Hundred toonies campaign. Both businesses successfully collected 200 toonies or $400.00 allowing for the purchase of two (2) brand new wheelchairs for the Hospital. The Foundation's ultimate goal is to collect 3000 toonies to purchase fifteen (15) new wheelchairs!

A special thank you is extended to Michelle Brouillard Sturgeon Falls Branch manager and WNGH Foundation Board Member and her team at the Sturgeon Falls RBC for their generous donation and for volunteering their time! The Sturgeon Falls branch of RBC has partnered and volunteered with the WNGH Foundation's annual Run4Health on May 7th, 2017.  The Day of Service Grant rewards their volunteerism with a $1000 donation to a charity.

RBC believes that employees and retirees who volunteer their time and expertise play a vital role in helping build better communities.
Thank you RBC!

Another remarkable donation made by Sturgeon Falls' RBC!
Thank you to Michelle Brouillard Branch manager and her RBC team for volunteering at our annual fundraising event Run4Health, held on May 7th, 2016. RBC awarded the WNGH Foundation with $1000.00 in reward for RBC's participation.

July 23rd, 2016 Michelle Brouillard and the Sturgeon Falls RBC team generously donated their time at our Annual Moe Mantha Jr. Charity Golf Classic! RBC participated as a silent corporate sponsor and donated $1000 to the Hospital Foundation for the purchase of our new digital x-ray machine!
We are so thankful to have such amazing community partners!
Thank you and merci!

On Monday, March 14th, 2016 the WNGH Foundation received a generous donation from the Sturgeon Falls Caisse Populaire and Desjardins Financial Securities in the amount of $10 000.This $10,000 kick-started the WNGH Foundation's fundraising initiative to purchase a new digital X-Ray machine.

Annually, the WNGH performs approximately 10 000 X-ray procedures for patients of West Nipissing and surrounding areas. The new digital X-Ray machine will cost well over $300 000 to purchase, and is necessary to provide the utmost quality services to our patients and residents of the community. The digital X-Ray machine will have no cassettes, and therefore will eliminate time consuming steps to process images. The images produced are of high and optimal quality for viewing, and are ready within seconds. This new innovation in X-ray diagnostic technology will allow for earlier detection, diagnosis and treatment, as well as a lower dosage of radiation per X-ray. According to Cynthia Desormiers President & CEO, "the X-ray machine is long overdue and will maximize workflow efficiency, provide exceptional images and will replace our former Analog system. Over the upcoming months an RFP will be prepared and sent out based on best practices and input from our radiologist and DI team".

February 10th, 2015 the WNGH Foundation was pleased to announce its donation of $50 000 to the West Nipissing General Hospital for the purchase of IV smart pumps. Our decision to purchase IV smart pumps for the WNGH was based on quality improvement, patient safety and best practices. This is one of many initiatives that will prevent medication errors. These IV pumps will be used in all departments throughout the hospital including oncology, palliative care, acute medicine, and of course in our Emergency Room.

Thank you and merci to our many community members for their generous contributions and hard work that made this purchase possible.
